Pentair AES galvanized steel water tanks are built for operations that need large-capacity, portable containment without the cost or permanence of concrete. Each tank ships as a set of curved steel panels that bolt together on site, allowing two people to assemble a complete tank in a single day. The same panels can be carried through a standard pedestrian doorway, making these tanks practical for indoor facilities as well as outdoor installations. They disassemble just as quickly, which makes them a practical option for temporary or seasonal setups. Sizes are available up to 105' in diameter for very large-scale applications; call for engineering assistance on deep tanks or non-standard configurations.
Four standard configurations range from 4,860 gallons (15' diameter) to 19,450 gallons (30' diameter), all with a 46" panel height. Deep tanks up to 14' can be constructed by bolting panels two or more high. For permanent installations, a sloping concrete bottom can be poured inside the tank, complete with a center drain and heating coils for temperature-controlled environments.
Many trout farmers and aquaculture operations use these galvanized steel tanks without liners or interior coatings when water pH is near neutral. Where the galvanized surface is not suitable for the species or water chemistry, Pentair AES PVC tank liners or epoxy paint kits (sold separately) provide a protective barrier. Galvanized steel has a long history in livestock watering and potable water storage, though zinc may leach into the water at high or low pH levels — use liners or epoxy paint where zinc contamination could be a concern.
NEVER USE COPPER SULFATE IN UNPROTECTED GALVANIZED TANKS.
Tanks may be partially buried to conserve heat and improve fish observation from ground level.
Note: Allow at least a two-week lead time and additional time for shipping. Call for shipping charges.
