How Aeration Saved Popular Lake in Orlando, Fla.

The Challenge: 

Park Lake had a history of some of the poorest water quality in the Orlando, Fla., area. The 10-acre lake generated many complaints about hydrilla algae blooms and fish kills attributed to low dissolved oxygen and high nutrient levels. 

In an attempt to resolve these issues, herbicides were used, but were quickly discovered to be a futile, expensive and temporary fix.
