This week has been filled with the usual farm activities such as planting and harvesting, but fish monitoring has also been added. As mentioned previously, our initial batch of hybrid striped bass has been moved to the grow-out tanks, and we received our second batch of fingerlings. They are enjoying their brief stay in quarantine prior to moving to their permanent residence.
Progress on the Schmidt location continues, and the roof will be completed within the next two weeks. Facility designs have been finalized, and the revised plans have been submitted for approval. With a building permit pending, construction will commence in the near future. The Urban Organics team is eager and excited to provide even more fresh, organically grown produce and sustainably raised fish!
